The doorbell rang and daddy opened the door. \u2018Salam alaikum, buddy!\u2019, said his dad loudly, surprising him. Yaseen looked up at his dad. \u2018Walaikum salam Daddy. What are you doing home?\u2019<\/p>\n
\u2018I thought we\u2019d spend some time together. Mama and Aisha have gone out to meet some friends so its just the two of us!\u2019, his father replied excitedly.<\/p>\n
\u2018Oh okay.’ Yaseen didn’t seem very enthusiastic.<\/p>\n
\u2018What\u2019s wrong buddy? Everything alright at school? Wait, you\u2019re not feeling sick, are you?, his dad sounded worried now.<\/p>\n

Then he sat quietly and thought for a while . \u2018No daddy. I don\u2019t want anything bad to happen to him. I just wish that I win at things too. Bilal is a nice kid, everyone likes him. I guess I want people to like me also.\u2019<\/p>\n His father thought that over. \u2018There\u2019s nothing wrong with wanting what other people have, son. Especially if its something good. All you have to do is make duaa and work hard for it. But we always have to wish well for others – just like we learned in that hadith, how does it go? It\u2019s not easy – but I\u2019m sure you\u2019ll get great at loving your brother what you love for yourself pretty fast\u2019, encouraged his father.<\/p>\n \u2018You know Dad, if I had a real<\/strong> brother it would be easier to practice this saying\u2019, said Yaseen earnestly.<\/p>\n That made his father laugh. ‘Nice try there buddy, but you\u2019re stuck with your sister.
