Winter in our home means lots of comforting oatmeal. The kids don’t know it, but this dessert is actually kinda good for them. Sometimes I have them measure out the ingredients or help with the mixing. This recipe serves 2 adults and three young children.
Parfait it for breakfast with yogurt, or pair with with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for a fun, easy dessert. Your kitchen will smell amazing and your taste buds will thank you.
This is how I made it :
1. Butter a small baking dish.
2. Chop 3 mini apples ( I used red and delicious). Place the apples in the buttered dish.
3 Sprinkle 1 tbsp brown sugar over the apples.
4. In a separate bowl mix 1 tbsp butter, 1/2 cup old fashioned oats, 1/4 tsp cinnamon, 2 tbsp walnuts(optional), 1 tbsp brown sugar, and a couple drops of vanilla. Spread oat mixture evenly on top of apples.
5. Bake at 350 F for 30 minutes or until apples are cooked through. Serve warm.
The picture looks so tempting! Yummy!
