Pop goes the flavor!

Lately, thanks to all the snow days, we’ve been watching quite a few kid friendly movies at our house. And movies generally mean popcorn. I prefer to make homemade popcorn – it’s pretty easy, just follow the instructions on the back of the bag. IMG_20150320_162822021 IMG_20150320_162903277

Last week, I went a step further, and played with some flavorings for the popcorn. I tried out two kinds, both which the kids and my husband liked. He preferred the savory one, the kids wanted more of the sweet kind.

Here’s how I made the Parm cheese pop corn :

Mix together 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning and 1/4 tsp garlic powder. Add to 4 cups of popcorn and mix well. Toss with 2 tbsp melted butter. Devour.IMG_20150320_163546146 IMG_20150320_163708582 IMG_20150320_163858280

Now on to the Cinnamon sugar one :

Drizzle 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1 tbsp melted butter, 1 tbsp condensed milk, and 1/2 tsp cinnamon over 4 cups of popcorn. Toss well to coat evenly and serve.

My kids thought this one tasted like churros. So good!
